I long for the day when technology provides a means of "direct to brain" input, where thru the use of a simple head worn device and computer interface/programming you are able to "experience" a simulation of any life event imagineable, not just the audible portion, but the whole experience.

Imagine being at '69 Woodstock, red acid and all, without leaving your spot in front of your PC. forums

I'm still trying to figure out if the HyperSonic AES paper is a spoof. Anyway the paper was presented in 1997, so they are a bit behind on their world domination strategy.

"Truly, this is a quantum leap, a paradigm shift."

Yeah, I got yer paradigm shift right here.

However, the PSYOPs boys reportedly have a similar tech system under the LRAD heading that can project a convincing approach of tanks and artillery from a half mile away...call for pricing... forums

But would such a system produce that wonderful feeling of bass shaking the floor or thumping against our chests? For myself, I really enjoy being in the middle of the direct sound field of of a pair of VOTTs while playing guitar synthesizer. I'm not sure that I would appreciate music as much without those bodily sensations.
